Still working on getting a finalization date,
Once we have that Lizzie and Annie fly back to Iowa for a brief court hearing and Lizzie will legally & officially a Wilcox!
We *should* have the date by early next week.

Physicals for The Wilcox Bros, forms given to the doctor to be mailed to agency.

April 29, 2010

Home Study visit #2, interview with Annie.

May 4, 2010

Home Study visit #3, interview with Richard, interview as a couple, interview with the kids, house inspection

May 12, 2010

Obtained copies of birth & marriage certificates, mailed them in.

Was supposed to have conference call with birthmom J. Didn't work out, and medical files still not received by agency. hmm.

October 5, 2010

No word from birthmom J still, so her file is now on hold. The birthmom (D) from 9/22 is now interested in us again (having originally chosen another family). Conference call made, went well, and looks like we may be "matched!"

October 6, 2010

Medical records obtained for birthmom D, taken to ob/gyn here to go over it all. Everything looks great!

Contract signed and returned.

Second phone call made to D, the birthmom. Richard was here for that, got to "meet" her!

Home Study mailed to attorney chosen in Iowa, where we'll be (hopefully!) adopting from!

Spoke to birthmom for 45 minutes, lots to go over!

Figured out where kids will go when The Call comes...there will be 10 hours of frantic for us, and about a week of frantic for all of our helpers :)

Spoke to birthmom, she and I decided on name (well, with Richard's knowledge!). She is also 1cm dilated!

Spoke with California attorney, and social services at the hospital of delivery. More details to go over.

Spoke with D, she's doing well, appointment on 11/10 and was 50% effaced. Soon! and EEKS!

November 15, 2010

Met with our California attorney. Went over what will happen on this side, and we will get our court date soon!

November 16, 2010

Talked to D, appointment today had her now at 2cm dilated and getting closer! Next appointment is Monday, and they'll discuss induction possibly.

Appointment had her at 3cm dilated, and induction is set for 7:15am on Friday!

November 23, 2010

Spoke with Iowa attorney over specifics, how baby will leave the hospital, procedure of discharge, etc. ICPC has been taking less than a week (yay!), and everything is still good.

Annie flies out. During layovers talks to attorneys, social workers, and birthmom to get everything in motion for Friday!
