Day 3 of Little Lizzie!

We passed her 72 hour/3 day birthday.
Normally would just be a day at home with a newborn...
but for us here...it means delivering paperwork to an attorney before she meets with the birthmom to terminate parental rights.
A bit heavier.
Papers were delivered to Iowa City,
Attorney's office, very cool & restored beautifully inside! (our white toyota rental car)

we went out to lunch for Lizzie's first restaurant outing (she scored us a free dessert when they found out how young she was and that it was her first restaurant!). Eyes covered by he hat, but nose & mouth exposed, she can breathe :) Slept & was perfect entire time!
yummy!!!

Started to pour while we were eating. Still wanted to see more of Iowa, our option was to just hang out in the hotel room plus Richard leaves on Wednesday!
So we drove,

we went to the Amish area, largest I think west of Mississippi (I may be wrong on that). No buggies (??? where were they??!!!!!), but there were cute small shops, a brewery, and many wineries!

Richard was drawn to this, laughing about it....but I think he may have secretly wanted to buy it (we didn't)
Richard & Lizzie strolling through the yarn/loom areas

Brewery!
Drive back to Cedar Rapids was quiet & mellow. On and off rain, many abandoned buildings, a few freight trains, and a lot of farm land.

Definitely a heavy first day out with your newborn, but so exciting too! I am just so thrilled that it's going so smoothly for you guys!
