Richard leaves tomorrow.
Not really much for him to do here at this point, just a waiting game for paperwork!
So as planned, he flies out tomorrow to take over back home.
And Lizzie and I wait here for approval to leave the state!
Iowa has been pretty! Been wandering around seeing sites and stuff. problem is that by this time, we're running out of things to see & do within easy driving distance! Especially since it started snowing a bit this morning!!
We drove north-east to Dubuque, a town along the Mississippi River. Couldn't cross the river, as that would be heading into Wisconsin or Illinois (ICPC meaning we can't leave the state!). So we stayed on this side of the Mississippi River.
first view of the Mississippi:
Most things close for the winter on 12/1 as far as things we were looking around at. Touristy stuff. Good thing, cause windchill was right around 9 degrees!
Found this, a tram thing.
I'm not a fan of those, but Richard was excited for it, so off he went, while Lizzie & I took in the view from above :)
We had lunch in Dubuque (carnivorous type for Richard, burger with bacon & corned beef) & found a statue (a bit creepy)
and then continued on to Dryersville, home of the Field of Dreams movie site! Too cold to get out for long, but Richard braved it to wander & take pictures :)
Driving out there,
lots of scenery like this:
And then we drove back! Full day!
Lizzie spent most of the day fully bundled up! Took her out in the restaurant, but otherwise, she stayed tucked in for this road trip!
Some shots of her this evening :)
